Bags are one of the most common packaging items found in the world. They are made from paper, foam, flexible film, film foil, polypropylene and polyethylene. Things to consider when selecting a bag are as follows: 

First is weight. Make sure whatever bag you choose can support the weight of your product. 

Second is the size. How much of your product needs to be sheltered in the confines of the bag.

Another consideration is what material to select for your bag. Things to consider when selecting material are:

1. Cushioning, does your bag have to absorb shock and vibration. 
2. Transparency, do you want to be able to see your product.
3. Barrier qualities, do you want the bag to protect your product from the outside environment. Ie. Moisture, germs, and dust etc. 

Also keep in mind that your bag can be a great marketing tool. While evaluating this aspect make sure all the graphics and product information can be successfully printed on the material and size you pick.
