Tape is one of the most used packaging items in the world.

Packaging tape has two components. First is the backing typically made of paper, plastic, or cloth. This backing then has an adhesive bonded to it. The adhesive is the second component. These two things combined produce a product that sticks to all types of packaging material.

Tape can also be reinforced with filament strands bonded to the backing. Printed tape can be used for brand identity and marketing.
