Thermoforming & Vacuum Formed
Thermoforming is a process where plastic sheeting is heated to a pliable temperature and then formed by a mold into a specific shape. When the plastic cools it forms a rigid container that can protect many manufactured items. This makes this material an excellent option to package many items like cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and small toys.
Our designers can guide you through all the details required to package your products using thermo formed plastics, this includes blister packaging.
Vacuum forming is a simplified version of thermoforming. A sheet of plastic is heated and stretched onto a single surface mold. It is then forced against the mold with vacuum pressure while the plastic is cooled. It creates ridged plastic product suitable for packaging applications.
The most common plastic used for both processes is High Impact Polystyrene commonly known as HIPPS. A&A Packaging can coach you through all the aspects required to engineer the proper vacuum or thermo formed package for your product.
